Getting It Done
The entourage effect is the collective expression of multiple components of the cannabis plant minus THC in delivering a maximum benefit to the subscriber. The entourage effect is a synergistic phenomenon that takes one known benefit of this plant-based medicine and adds it to another known benefit. Together the beneficial effect is determined to be greater. Together they do more. The pharmaceutical world has tried on multiple occasions to replicate these botanical compounds via chemical formulation but have been unable to get the same effect that the natural plant gives because of what we believe is the entourage effect.
The individual phytocannabinoid units of the cannabis plant which are many; CBG, CBD, CBDA, CBN, etc., each have a certain biological activity. The renaissance of Cannabis sativa L species is now being studied as plant-based medicine again and not as Weed or Pot, for the first time in 70 years. The different phytocannabinoid profiles now number over 114 and only a few have been fully studied. These cannabinoids are all biosynthesized as carboxylic acid, with the precursor being the cannabigerolic acid (CBG-A) the mother lode.
In science, we have a way of trying to single out all other elements like THC down to their isolate, making a pure component, like CBD. But we are learning that to achieve the entourage effect we have to use a combination of different components to join together that works more effectively. If there are multiple components of this plant that tend to work together for the benefit of plant-based medicine, so let it be. Research abounds!
This brings me to the effect I want to explain when I get this cannabis synergy of the entourage effect, and THC is not part of this effect. I get to a point where I can reach another level of cognitive awareness. My patients most often ask, “Will the CBD products make me high, NO! Many patients ask what will I feel. What you feel is a hard subject to get your hands around. But this is what I am trying to do in this short blog.
I call it transcendence. Transcendence is the act of rising above something to a superior state…. Transcendence comes from the Latin prefix trans-, meaning “beyond,” and the word scandare, meaning “to climb.” When you achieve transcendence, you have gone beyond ordinary limitations.
This is when I know that my plant-based CBD with all its terpenes and flavonoids are all working in unisons, together. When I have a directed level of awareness, this higher level of awareness allows me to basically block out many of the other external stimuli and allows for a much more streamlined consciousness in solving the situation at hand. You can drill down and transcend to a higher level of awareness you are getting it done, whatever task completed!
